Famagusta District is separated by a boundary between the Greek and Turkish part of Cyprus. The southern part is administered by the municipality of Paralimni. Tourism in this area is highly developed and you will find a number of hotels and holiday homes along the coast of Kapparis about Pernera, Protaras, Cape Greco to Ayia Napa and Ayias Theklas. The area is very developed and has probably the most beautiful beaches of the island. The surrounding is relatively flat and in addition to tourism there is lots of farming around. In the summer, yet a popular tourist destination, in winter time many shops and restaurants are closed and the places look a bit deserted. Culturally this part of Cyprus does not have much to offer the part, one enjoys here beach holiday at the best beaches of the island and young people come for the exciting nightlife in Ayia Napa.
Alternation offers water sports and some hiking routes, which are often used in spring or autumn.
