Panormo is one of the small coastal villages of Crete between Heraklion (63 km) and Rethymnon (21 km). The coast is rocky with beautiful bays, the countryside is mountainous and the village stretches down to the coast and the small harbor. The village is quiet and in the streets are some good taverns and shops and is ideal for a relaxing family holiday. In the summer the village center will be closed for cars so that taverns can put their tables on the narrow streets. There are two beautiful sandy bays, one is located at the small port and the second about 200 meters west. The cleanliness of the beach and water is excellent. Outside the town, there are several hotels along the coast, like the Iberostar and Grecotel. From the harbor boat trips to Rethymnon and Bali are offered, furthermore there are sun loungers and umbrellas on the beach for rent.
