Plakias Villa Holiday

Plakias is located about 70 km south of Rethymnon, at the bottom of Kouraliotiki gorge. The small town is surrounded by a hilly landscape and offers next to the 1,5 km long main beach, which is shallow and sandy, several smaller bays in the area. The place is still quite natural and not yet overrun by mass tourism. From the once small fishing village with 5 houses it has become a pretty, small resort with a few restaurants, taverns, cafes and supermarkets and some, family-run apartment houses. In addition, you can also find a youth hostel, a doctor and a pharmacy in the village.

The beach is excellent and suitable for children. Some cafes and a few smaller apartment houses are located directly on the beach. Even quieter is Souda, about  1km to the west. Again, there are a couple of taverns and the beach is less visited.
